The APMC – Associação Pan-Americana de Medicina Canabinoide [Pan American Association of Cannabinoid Medicine] – is a non-profit entity, founded by professional physicians, who include in their therapeutic arsenal products derived from Cannabis sativa for medical purposes.
The Association is guided by science and seeks to provide greater progress and discussion around the application protocols of phytocannabinoids among the most diverse medical specialties.
The potential of Cannabis products is huge. There are already today hundreds of phytocannabinoids catalogued by science, with the most studied being:
However, the extracts are rich in several types of substances, such as terpenes, other phytocannabinoids, flavonoids, and other constituents of the plant. They make up a group of molecules found mainly in Cannabis sativa, which are able to interact with and modulate what we call the Endocannabinoid System.
The founding members are preparing the guidelines on the main applications of the medical use of Cannabis. Treatment guidelines for conditions such as chronic pain, refractory epilepsy, Tourette’s syndrome, dementias, neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s, cancer palliation, migraine, and others will soon be available on the site.
